basti basti phartay thay,
har pal hanstay rehtay thay,

pher eik din doonoo rooth gay
oor saray spanay toot gay,

ab chand be us waqat aata hay
sooraj jab so jata hay,

badal sab say kehtay hai,
sooraj uljha rehta hay,

chand ka saath setaray hain,
par sooraj tenha rahta hay.
